What
are Pure Essential Oils?
Earth Goddess gourmet soaps are scented with essential oils, plant extracts,
flowers and ground spices.
Essential oils are liquids distilled from plant seeds, bark, leaves, stems,
roots, flowers, and fruits. To produce pure essential oils requires several
hundred pounds or even several thousand pounds of plant material to extract
one pound of pure essential oil. The purest essential oils are extracted
from plants that grow in organic soil and are processed using low
temperatures, low pressures, and no chemical solvents.
Essential
oils are the re-generating, oxygenating, and immune defense properties of
plants. Essential oils are so small in molecular size that they can quickly
penetrate skin tissue. They are also lipid soluble and are able to
penetrate cell walls, and can affect every cell of the body within 20
minutes and are metabolized like other nutrients. Essential oils contain
oxygen molecules which help transport nutrients to human cells deficient in
oxygen and also stimulate the immune system.
The
Therapeutic Benefits of Essential Oils
·
Essential oils are powerful anti-oxidants which prevent the oxidation
(aging) in cells.
·
Essential oils are antibacterial and anti microbial and have been proven to
destroy bacteria while simultaneously restoring balance to the body.
·
Essential oils have a bio-electrical frequency that is several times
greater than the frequency of herbs, food and even the human body. Clinical
research has shown that essential oils can quickly raise the frequency of
the human body restoring it to a normal healthy frequency level. (72 – 90
MHz)
·
Essential oils are aromatic and provide air purification by removing
metallic particles and toxins from the air, increasing atmospheric
oxygen, inhibit bacterial growth, destroy odors from mold, cigarettes and
animals.
How Our Skin Works
Our
skin is an organ working hard to rid our body of impurities and absorb light
and moisture. The pores in our skin accept a variety of water and
oil-soluble materials. Our skin absorbs or “eats” everything we place on it
into our blood stream. Since the good and bad enter readily, we must select
carefully the products we use. Our skin acts as a protective barrier, and
each toxic exposure damages this barrier and inhibits the skin’s ability to
function properly, and benefit our over-all health.
Many
commercial soaps are made from industrial detergents and petroleum-based
by-products, which can cause a variety of skin irritations and deposit
toxins in your skin and blood stream.
Why Cold-Processed Soaps?
Earth Goddess Botanicals gourmet bars are made with
fruit, vegetable, and nut oils cold-processed to create healthy, cleansing,
and moisturizing skin care; this means the natural glycerin and the
essential fatty acids from the oils are retained in the skin care bars to
retain the healing qualities of the plant oils. Commercial soap makers
remove the glycerin from their soaps and sell it separately as a valuable
by-product.
Earth Goddess Botanicals gourmet soaps contain no
detergents, no artificial coloring or preservatives, no animal
fats,
and no petroleum products.
Why Vegetable, Fruit,
and Nut Oils?
Our bodies do not manufacture some fatty acids which are necessary for
continued good health, so we must include them in our diet or massage them
into our skin. Certain vegetable, fruit, and nut oils contain essential
fatty acids and there are two of them – linoleic acid and linolenic acids.
These essential fatty acids regulate blood pressure, increase blood flow to
the organs and helps reduce blood clots.
